For a while Jack Torrance, wife Wendy and son Danny lived on Arapahoe Street in Boulder.
Role in The Shining[]
Boulder, Colorado was the town in which author Stephen King and his wife Tabitha were staying when they decided to take a vacation which led them to The Stanley Hotel. It was the hotel which inspired King to write the 1977 novel The Shining.
In the Stanley Kubrick 1980 film version, Jack Torrance, his wife Wendy, and their son Danny are also living in Boulder, Colorado, before Jack takes on the role of winter caretaker at the Overlook Hotel.
