The Storeroom is an area in the Overlook Hotel. Dick Hallorann shows Wendy Torrance the storeroom during her tour of the hotel. Wendy winds up locking her husband Jack in their when the hotel's evil begins to take over Jack.

The Shining (book)[]
Both Danny and Wendy lock Jack in the storeroom.
The Shining (film)[]
Only Wendy locks Jack in the storeroom in the Stanley Kubrick version of The Shining.
Interpretations[]
Several fan interpretations of the film utilize the storeroom. The Calumet Baking Powder Company cans play a role in the Native American genocide theory and the containers of Tang play a role in the fake moon landing theory.
Disappearing light switch[]
There is a double switch box on the wall to the right of the door which disappear and reappear frequently throughout the film.
