The Whining is the name of a parody of the 1997 Mick Garris miniseries version of the 1977 Stephen King novel The Shining. Published by CRACKED magazine, the parody was released in their September 1997 edition in a response to Stephen King recreating his vision of The Shining, after him being very disappointed in the 1980 Stanley Kubrick film version of the story.

The cover of CRACKED magazine issue #319 is devoted to "Jurassic Park". "The Shining" never received a cover of its own. It just appears in this issue. Probably due to CRAZY and MAD magazines also doing parodies at the time, CRACKED magazine never did a parody of the original film.
